From the Alpine Pasture to the Hotel

A house with 120 years of history!

The Grünsteinblick was built in 1904 as the first guesthouse here by the Hochbahn and was already a popular place back then for merchants to recharge with food and drink, to linger a bit before continuing with their work.

In 1964, the Grünsteinblick was officially named a guesthouse, and the summer holidaymakers — as vacationers were called back then — enjoyed their stay here.

A house with tradition for almost 120 years!

On January 1, 2014, Vera and Bernhard König purchased the Grünsteinblick. With great attention to detail, they transformed the original guesthouse into a place of relaxation in the Berchtesgadener Land. After numerous renovations, they were especially proud in summer 2022 to receive the 4-star classification for the Almhotel Grünsteinblick. For health reasons, the König family has decided to embark on a new chapter in life and will hand over the Almhotel Grünsteinblick to the Wimmer family from Berchtesgadener Land on July 1, 2025.
